Our Favourite Markets in Northern Ireland that you need to visit!
Like all of you, we love nothing more than spending a Sunday afternoon supporting local businesses by getting out to nearby markets. We have picked a few of our favourites - where you can often spot a Bosh. pop-up stall too! Give us a message on Instagram to find out when and where you can next find the Bosh Bottles market pop-up!
St George’s Market, Belfast
Right in the heart of the city centre, St George’s is definitely Belfast's and probably Northern Ireland’s most iconic market spot. Since the late 19th century, the market has been a source of fresh meat, fish and vegetables and local wares.
Nowadays the market opens its doors on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It is located on May Street, close to the River Lagan and the Waterfront Hall. Every week, the market is alive with local producers, musicians, artisans, antiques sellers, and food stalls. You need to try the paella!
Urban Markets, Across NI
Born out of the pandemic, Urban Market has a few less years experience than other more established markets. We have been regular attenders with Urban Markets, venues are all across Northern Ireland with a couple of our faves; The Junction, Antrim, Connswater Rooftop Market and Carrickfergus Street Market.
Urban Market combines traders from all around Northern Ireland from organic dog treats, to the best popcorn or to the latest in vintage fashion - this market has you covered. There is always a lot of fun activities on for kids at these markets too, so why not make a family weekend day out!
The Urban Market team, led by Thomas Ferris are always coming up with new unique plans and ideas so make sure to head over to their website to checkout where their latest markets are popping up!
Rumour has it Urban Market sell very cool water bottles in the permanent bricks & mortar shop at The Junction, Antrim too!
Banana Block, Belfast
Banana Block is a new living museum and events space set within a historic linen mill and inspired by the curious connections between Belfast and bananas.
Definitely the most unique space we have traded in, Banana Block combine the wacky with the wonderfully local. With a vinyl shop and the best bagels in Belfast, Banana Block is establishing itself as the heart of hipster in East Belfast. Stop by the PortView Trade Centre, 310 Newtownards Rd to check it out!
We urge you to visit all the venues above or your local market. Not only will you enjoy friendly conversation with the tellers but you will often come home with a unique item or new food item that you can't get anywhere else. Best of all you get to support the brilliant local businesses that really do appreciate your support.
